Margo Mot is a Brussels-based filmmaker. Balancing between documentary and fiction, her work often explores the tension between the natural and the constructed. Recurring themes include distance and proximity in the digital age and our relationship to (public) spaces. By interweaving the imagined and the tangible, she likes to reveal hidden social constructions within a playful, often staged universe. Her short films, "De Vlakte" and "Too Far Too Close," have been shown at international film festivals such as Brussels Short Film Festival, Zoom Zbliżenia (POL), Santorini Short Film Festival (GR), and International Film Festival Assen (NL).

After graduating from KASK in 2017, Margo has worked as a director, screenwriter, and editor on various projects. She regularly collaborates with dancers, musicians, and theatre collectives. Over the past ten years, she has made numerous concert films and music videos for artists such as Aili and Sea (Peoples), as well as teasers and trailers for choreographers and performers including Lisa Vereertbrugghen and Mathilde Ceuppens (Danscentrumjette). In 2023, she made "NOMAN," a theatrical research film, together with Compagnie de Kolifokkers. The film premiered at PINX festival and will be shown at ‘Schouwburg De Kern’ in November 2025.

Today, Margo is working on a new short fiction film, "Hallo Liebe," produced by Dagvorm Films and Rayuela Productions, while simultaneously developing her first mid-length documentary, "Not A Morning Person," a project selected and supported by SIC (Sound Image Culture). Besides filmmaking, Margo is an active musician with her band, Another Dancer.
